Norman González Artcore is a Colombian visual artist whose practice unfolds at the intersection of academic drawing, chiaroscuro, and contemporary pointillism as languages for investigating the tensions experienced by individuals within contemporary society. His work lies at the intersection of figurative representation and symbolic construction, using the image as a space to question power, identity, alienation, morality, and the systems that condition human behavior.
From graphite drawings, he has constructed an introspective visual universe where the body becomes the stage for psychological and social conflicts. Impossible architectures, labyrinths, mirrors, puppets, fragmented figures, and ambiguous scenarios appear recurrently as metaphors for the invisible structures that regulate contemporary life. More than illustrating social problems, his works seek to reveal how these are internalized by the individual, shaping their own perception of reality.
Simultaneously, she develops a line of research based on pointillism, a technique she transforms into a contemporary language through the use of color and the patient accumulation of thousands of dots. In this work, she explores themes related to nature, contemplation, spirituality, perception, and everyday wonder. While visually accessible, these works reflect on the relationship between human beings and their environment, becoming a space where beauty serves as a gateway to deeper questions.
The coexistence of both lines of work stems from a shared concern: understanding the different ways in which human beings construct meaning. While one addresses the fractures of the individual within society, the other proposes moments of contemplation and balance, demonstrating that critique and beauty can be part of the same artistic investigation.
Her creative process is deeply linked to drawing as a tool for thought. More than a means of representation, she understands drawing as a mechanism of analysis, where each line and each dot participates in the conceptual construction of the image. This methodology allows him to develop works of great technical precision without sacrificing a strong symbolic charge.
Currently, he focuses his practice on strengthening international dialogue through artist residencies, exhibitions, and collaborative projects that allow him to confront his Latin American experience with other cultural contexts. He considers these spaces as laboratories of exchange capable of expanding both his artistic research and his capacity to generate new interpretations of contemporary social dynamics.
At the same time, he is developing the Norman González Artcore brand, a project that seeks to articulate artistic research with a sustainable strategy for the circulation and sale of his work. From this perspective, he understands that economic viability does not represent a renunciation of critical thinking, but rather the possibility of building an independent practice capable of sustaining larger-scale projects, research, and production over time.
More than producing images, Norman González Artcore conceives of each work as an instrument of reflection: a space where the viewer is invited to question what they habitually accept as natural and where the aesthetic experience becomes an exercise in thought.
